2024 Election Results

Congratulations to our DFL-endorsed candidates on their successful 2024 campaigns. Representative Steve Elkins, re-elected to serve house district 50B, and Representative-Elect Julie Greene, elected to serve house district 50A. We are proud of the campaigns that you ran, and excited to have you both representing our district in the Minnesota State House.

Congratulations to the RCV Bloomington team who successfully defeated a repeal campaign, saving ranked choice voting for municipal campaigns in Bloomington. Well done!

Additional gratitude and congratulations are due to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, re-elected to serve the 5th Congressional District; and Congresswoman-Elect Kelly Morrison, elected to serve the 3rd Congressional District. You have important roles, and we couldn't think of anyone better to represent us in the United States Congress.

Of course, congratulations are due to our senior Senator, Amy Klobuchar, on her re-election. Her leadership will be essential in the U.S. Senate and we are thrilled that she will continue to represent Minnesotans.

We know that the results of the national election did not go our way. Whatever you are feeling is valid. We will leave you with these words from our nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris: "There is an adage: Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars. I know many people feel like we are entering a dark time. For the benefit of us all, I hope that is not the case. But, America, if it is: Let us fill the sky with the light of a billion brilliant stars." There is much good we can do at our local level, and the work is not yet complete. Take the time you need to recharge, but please be ready to continue to advocate for leaders at a local, county, state, and federal level that advance the future we know is possible. Please stay plugged in to your local DFL, to your advocacy organizations, and build the community that we all desperately deserve. We'll still be here.
